    Student Motivation and Learning Ownership with Chris Niemiec

    Allendale - Rumsey Library - Library
    Join us on Tuesday, February 10th at 7:00 PM for an engaging talk with Dr. Chris Niemiec from the University of Rochester about what truly motivates our students to succeed. Dr. Niemiec has been working closely with Allendale Columbia to help our students take more ownership of their learning through our advisory goal-setting and review process.
     
    This approach is based on research that shows when children feel "in the driver's seat" of their own choices and feel a genuine bond with their teachers, they become more resilient and excited to learn. You’ll discover how these simple shifts in school help your child build the confidence and independence they need for the long term. We hope to see you there to learn more about the science of student success!

    Celebrate La Chandeleur (Crêpe Day) with the French Students

    French students celebrate La Chandeleur, also known as Crêpe Day, a traditional French holiday held every year in early February.This year, the celebration will take place in the STEM kitchen at our school, where culture, language, and hands-on learning come together.
