  • Middle School/Upper School Mathematics Teacher

    Allendale Columbia School is a diverse, co-educational, college prep independent school serving more than 350 students in Little School (18mo-36mo) through Grade 12. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic educator and curious learner to join a team of professionals responsible for innovative, authentic and student-centered programming. This appointment will begin in September for the 2026-2027 academic year. 
    With the acceleration of technological tools and the need for real-life mathematical problem solving, this position requires the highest mathematical ability as well as collaborative, team-focused, and student-centered pedagogy. The mathematics curriculum in the Middle School covers Pre-Algebra to Geometry and the Upper School covers Algebra through Advanced Placement Calculus (BC) and extends into Advanced Post-Calculus electives. We are looking for a candidate who is collaborative and enjoys developing curriculum that is both rigorous and relevant to our students' lives

    Major Areas of Responsibility:


    Creating curriculum and course materials that are current, interdisciplinary, and engaging;
    • Ability to effectively teach Geometry - AP BC Calculus in the Upper School;

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree required with a master’s degree in the field of mathematics preferred;

  • Human Resources Coordinator Part Time

    Allendale Columbia School (AC) seeks a people-centered, organized part-time HR Coordinator to support the day-to-day human resources needs of our school community.  This role plays an important part in fostering a positive, supportive employee experience that directly impacts our students and families. This is a part-time, non-exempt position of approximately 20 hours per week, reporting to the CFO.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork, orientation, and serving as welcoming first point of contact for staff
    • Conduct exit interviews and share relevant feedback with leadership to support staff retention.
    • Serve as a resource for staff navigating HR questions, benefits, and employee well-being initiatives.
    • Provide administrative support for the recruitment process, including posting positions, organizing materials, and scheduling interviews; senior leadership handles reference calls and hiring decisions.
    • Complete annual FTE reporting to required state and federal agencies.
    • Support school safety processes by coordinating required drills and evaluations, and maintain related records.
    • Ensure HR practices, files, and policies remain compliant with New York State and federal employment law.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in an HR or HR support role.
    • Working knowledge of NYS and federal employment laws.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a high degree of discretion.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; HR certification a plus.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary commensurate with experience, range is $40K-52K.  Part-time benefits include TIAA/CREF retirement plan participation, lunch in the Dining Commons, professional development support, and partial tuition remission for qualified children.

  • Little School Teaching Assistant  

    The Allendale Columbia Little School Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing an enriched early childhood education program by assisting the Lead Teacher in all aspects regarding the Reggio-Emilia approach. Allendale Columbia and the Reggio-Emilia approach believe that a child’s development occurs in the least restrictive environment, meaning that children learn best when they are able to learn, discover, explore, and experiment in and around the world that surrounds them. Within the Little School we employ a combination of child-led/guided learning and developmentally appropriate learning curriculum. Our main goal is to create a safe and happy place for the young minds of these children to grow.

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Key responsibilities include assisting the lead teacher with curriculum and activity implementation.
    • Supervising and monitoring children's safety, assisting with routines like feeding and hygiene, and helping maintain a clean classroom.
    • Provide individual or small group support, encourage positive behavior, and communicate with parents.
    • Additional duties may involve record-keeping, preparing for lessons, assisting with activities, and attending staff meetings and training.
    • Foster a stimulating, inviting, and nurturing environment for children and trusting relationships that encourage parents and educational partners.

  • HAC Assistant Varsity Indoor Track and Field Coach

    HAC, the joint interscholastic athletic program of The Harley School and Allendale Columbia School, is currently accepting applications for an HAC Assistant Varsity Indoor Track and Field Coach for the 2026 - 2027 winter sports season.
    The varsity winter sports season is scheduled to begin Monday, November 16, 2026.
    The Assistant Varsity Indoor Track and Field Coach is a crucial member of the HAC track and field program and supports the overall direction, development, and management of the HAC indoor track and field program, promoting the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth for all student-athletes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assists the varsity head coach and helps lead the HAC Indoor Track and Field program in conjunction with the Athletic Directors
    • Supports the Head Varsity Coach with practice planning and execution and meet coaching, event management, and officiating duties for the varsity team
    • Provides direct support, coaching, and management of student-athletes during practices, travel, and athletic contests across various track and field disciplines (events, jumps, throws, and/or running events)
    • Keeps all student-athletes safe and accounted for
    • Promotes an appreciation of physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship while teaching the skills, techniques, and strategies of track and field
    • Motivates, encourages, and provides constructive feedback to participating student-athletes in a positive and impactful way to help improve performances and the overall student-athlete track and field experience
    • Helps communicate pertinent information with students, families, athletic directors, league and Section V officials, and the HAC community
    • Engages and interacts with meet officials and opposing coaches in a respectful manner
    • Attends all required workshops and meetings via HAC, the League, Section V, and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association relating to indoor track and field and as assigned
    • Keeps the student-athlete perspective in focus and provides an athletic experience that directly reflects the HAC mission statement and philosophy

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Previous experience as a track and field athlete and/or coach (interscholastic coaching experience is highly desirable)
    • Throwing and field events coaching experience highly desired
    • Proficiency in teaching and coaching the fundamentals, mechanics, and strategies of indoor track and field events.
    • Must possess or be able to acquire the following certifications prior to the start of the season:
      • NYS Coaching License or NYS Temporary Coaching License.
      • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
      • Heads Up Concussion Certification.
      • NFHS Implicit Bias Certification

    • Program Leadership: Serve as the head of the HAC boys tennis program, providing strategic vision, leadership, and support to the entire program, including the Modified and Junior Varsity (if applicable) coaches and staff.
    • Instruction and Development: Plan, organize, and execute effective, high-quality practices and match strategies, proficiently teaching and coaching the fundamentals and advanced techniques and strategies of tennis.
    • Student-Athlete Management and Well-Being: Manage, supervise, and ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes (typically 9+) during practices, travel, matches, tournaments, and team activities.

    HAC, the joint interscholastic athletic program of The Harley School and Allendale Columbia School, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Modified Volleyball Coach for the 2026 fall sports season.

    The modified fall season is scheduled to begin Monday, August 31, 2026. The Assistant Modified Volleyball Coach is a foundational leader in the HAC volleyball pipeline. This role focuses on supporting the introduction of the sport to 7th and 8th graders, fostering a love for the game, and promoting the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Instruction & Skill Development: Assist with planning and executing practices that prioritize fundamental skill acquisition (passing, setting, serving) and maximize "touches" for all 15+ athletes.
    • Age-Appropriate Coaching: Support the head coach in simplifying complex volleyball concepts into digestible instructions suitable for developing middle school players.
    • Equitable Play: Help ensure equitable playing time and development opportunities for all team members, regardless of experience level.
    • Program Alignment: Collaborate with the Head Modified Coach and Varsity Head Coach to ensure vertical alignment of terminology, mechanics, and fundamental strategies.
    • Student-Athlete Management: Supervise and ensure the safety of student-athletes during practices, matches, and travel. Act as a positive role model and mentor, focusing on character development.
    • Administrative Duties: Assist with equipment and uniform distribution, inventory, and collection. Help maintain accurate records (attendance, score reporting, injury reports).
    • Communication: Maintain effective, positive communication with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules and expectations.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
    • Experience: Previous experience coaching or playing volleyball. Experience working with middle-school-aged children (grades 7–8) in a pedagogical, camp, or athletic setting is highly desirable.
    • Coaching Philosophy: A demonstrated commitment to teaching core mechanics (proper footwork, court positioning, rotations) in a supportive, inclusive environment.
    • Certifications: Candidates must possess (or be able to acquire prior to the season) the following:
      • NYS Coaching License (or Temporary Coaching License).
      • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
      • Heads Up Concussion Certification.
      • NFHS Implicit Bias Certification.

    Schedule and Compensation

    • Previous experience as a tennis player and/or coach (High school coaching experience is highly desirable).
    • Proficiency in teaching and coaching the fundamentals and strategy of tennis.

      • NYS Coaching License or NYS Temporary Coaching License.
      • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.

    The modified fall season is scheduled to begin Monday, August 31, 2026. The Head Modified Volleyball Coach is a foundational leader in the HAC volleyball pipeline. This role focuses on introducing the sport to 7th and 8th graders, fostering a love for the game, and promoting the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Instruction & Skill Development: Plan and execute practices that prioritize fundamental skill acquisition (passing, setting, serving) and maximize "touches" for all 15+ athletes.
    • Age-Appropriate Coaching: Simplify complex volleyball concepts into digestible instructions suitable for developing middle school players.
    • Equitable Play: Ensure equitable playing time and development opportunities for all team members, regardless of experience level.
    • Program Alignment: Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure vertical alignment of terminology, mechanics, and fundamental strategies.

    HAC, the joint interscholastic athletic program of The Harley School and Allendale Columbia School, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026 - 2027 winter sports season. 

    The varsity winter sports season is scheduled to begin Monday, November 16, 2026. The Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach is a crucial member of the HAC girls basketball program and supports the overall direction, development, and management of the HAC girls basketball program, promoting the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth for all student-athletes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assists the varsity head coach and helps lead the HAC Girls Basketball program in conjunction with the Athletic Directors
    • Supports the Head Varsity Coach with practice planning and execution and in-game coaching and management for the varsity team
    • Provides direct support, coaching and management of 10+ student-athletes during practices, travel and athletic contests
    • Keeps all student athletes safe and accounted for 
    • Promotes an appreciation of physical activity, teamwork and sportsmanship while teaching the skills and strategies of basketball
    • Motivates, encourages and provides constructive feedback to participating student-athletes in a positive and impactful way to help improve performances and the overall student-athlete basketball experience
    • Helps communicate pertinent information with students, families, athletic directors, league and Section V officials and the HAC community 
    • Engages and interacts with game officials and opposing coaches in a respectful manner
    • Attend all required workshops and meetings via HAC, the Finger Lakes High School Athletic Association, Section V and New York State Public High School Athletic Association relating to girls basketball and as assigned
    • Keeps the student-athlete perspective in focus and provides a basketball experience that directly reflects the HAC mission statement and philosophy 
    • Supports uniform(s) and equipment management and inventory

    Allendale Columbia, a diverse, co-educational, college-prep independent school serving over 350 students in grades nursery through 12, seeks an experienced, dynamic learner to join a team of professionals responsible for innovative and authentic programming! We are seeking to fill the Part-Time After-School Program Instructor position in our Rainbow Room After-School Program. Hours for this position are 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. after school days for the 2026-2027 school year, and 8-hour vacation days when school is not in session.
